520 _aFor immigrant communities, beyond its cultual function, religious space represents the place of territorialization and recomposition of a plurality of allegiances. Based on an ethnographic analysis of the emergence and dynamics of the Russian Orthodox site and parish of St. Seraphim de Sarov, Rawdon, Quebec, the article shows how people and places come to create a social and cultural intimacy able to both integrate and differentiate themselves within a new society.
