520 _aFounded in the Kent area in 1995, Moms in Prayer currently includes over 2,000 groups in France, which testifies to the activism of Catholic organizations favoring an alternative culture of resistance through religion. Our ethnographical survey analyzes its practices, the conservative ideas that it promotes and its members. At the same time, owing to the different backgrounds of those involved, the voluntary nature of membership, the direct link to God, the importance given to personal well-being, belonging to a transnational and a cross-denominational network, Moms in Prayer is in tune with contemporary culture.
