520 _aSelf-employed lorry drivers are being affected by major transformations of the road freight sector. New types of activities are emerging, and there are new requirements to access this profession. Their trajectories are changing the group’s characteristics. Thanks to the SINE survey conducted by INSEE, we can study these trajectories from an earlier vantage point. By categorizing these self-employed workers, we find classic trajectories involving manual work and entrepreneurship. More original trajectories emerge, too, of self-employed workers facing hardships and others focused on routine management of their activities.
