Each Freudian and Lacanian theoretical facet of the symptom as a sign—a linguistic sign of the symptom as a metaphor of the place of jouissance and lastly as a letter—is discussed and illustrated with clinical examples. A few aspects of treatment reveal how the symptom, which first beckons to the patient, settles into the unraveling of the analytical work at the very core of the language and of the body that sustains it. | ||
