520 _aSocial and political responsibility as the objective of therapy The objective of Gestalt therapy is not only to increase responsibility and the ability to act towards and for oneself, but also all at once towards and for society and the environment. The ability to act socially and the ability to act politically are implicit aims both of a successful therapy and of training in Gestalt therapy. The basis of this theory for the author lies in the theory of Gestalt therapy and he illustrates this view by a workshop during a seminar whose objective was to increase awareness of the political implication that lies at the heart of Gestalt therapeutic action.
