In reality, more than divisions, they are interpretations of different ideas that the Turkish have of a state-nation, sovereignty and devolution of parcels of this sovereignty towards a higher authority, the EU. From this point of view, Islamism also becomes an affirmation of the national identity and an essential addition to nationalism.
