520 _aThe role of Francophonia in Vanuatu is striking taking into account its huge linguistic diversity. Three official languages are recognized since independence in 1980 : Bichlamar, English and French. This article studies the links and political tensions that has aroused since then. As a matter of fact, more that a simple language in Vanuatu, Francophonia is an identity that demands its place in the political context.
