A case study on the trajectory of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology has suggested that successful innovation cannot occur without a collective build-up of knowledge shared by the entire community involved in a given public space. Working towards innovation therefore means working through a whole sequence which, through a complex process of communication, transforms information into knowledge.
