520 _aUniversal digital networking for everyone did not emerge without enormous development efforts in document management, semantics, translation tools and standards capable of encompassing the profound changes induced by multiple cultural approaches to knowledge creation, classification, learning and communication. The standardization of e-learning (SC36) is of course emblematic of these changes, but the technical ICT system as a whole is concerned and has become involved in developing the foundations of responses (UNICODE, XML, semantic web, etc.). It may be assumed that the collaborative appropriation of the new digital system will have an impact on the transmission of knowledge, in particular with the possibility of autonomous learning through classification.
