520 _aIn Québec under the French regime, a set of rules of equal parts gradually gives way to non-egalitarian regime. It occurs thanks to the authority reversal within the family and at the cost of betrayal so much the letter as the spirit of customary. New rules take their development as the parents come off from models brought by the old continent and as requirements of comfort has the opportunity to appear. Items of property are not anymore transmitted to all the children in an equalitarian way. To rules of customary power, depriving the individuals of the right to dispose of the property, was entailed to a set of rules of liberal authority leaning on donations. It is this reversal which is about to be explained and described here in the light of the “québéquoise” historiography and works realized in the Paris “ coutume”.
