In the context of the consensus conference on “Support for terminal patients and their families,” organized in January 2004, we carried out a literature review on the subject. This bibliography, which we aimed to make as exhaustive as possible, enabled us to examine the underlying philosophical and ethical aspects, based on authors such as Emmanuel Levinas or Marc-Alain Ouaknin.
