The first formal description of autism by Leo Kanner in the 1940s focused on the development of a fairly homogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder, and did not mention the possibility of any treatment. Currently, autism is treated through a type of care that oscillates between behavioral and cognitive approaches. Proposals for other types of treatment are being considered, however, two of which are analyzed here. | ||
