520 _aThis article examines the challenges of implementing the mental health law in Argentina, focusing on emergencies and risks for patients with mental disorders. Delays in detecting and dealing with these situations hamper access to care. To address this issue, an intervention protocol and a training program have been developed for mental health staff in two institutions we supervise: a public primary care network and a long-stay residence. The aim is to facilitate reception, diagnosis, and intervention. Preliminary results, comparing the application in these two institutions, show an improvement in emergency response and coordination between mental health professionals. The article stresses the importance of ongoing training and interdisciplinarity for better management of mental health emergencies, while highlighting the effective potential of protocols to improve care.
