520 _aPsychoanalysis is scientifically assessable simply because it has been scientifically assessed. This is testified by the publication of articles in international journals with highly regarded reading committees. But this fails to change anything. Due to multiple resistances, in our imaginary psychoanalysis is always impossible to assess. Over the decades, it has been deemed successively that there is no point in assessing psychoanalysis because its effectiveness is obvious, and that one cannot assess psychoanalysis using a statistical method on account of the singularity of the analysand/analyst pair. In fact, nobody wants to assess psychoanalysis: not psychoanalysts, not scientists, and not even society. It is high time that we realized this.
