520 | _aThe term “adventure of synodality” is used because the synodality of the Church implies moving towards a renewed form of responsibility of the baptized in governance and pastoral action. It is an “adventure” because the experience presented here, conducted with four pastoral teams of the Catholic Church in the canton of Vaud (Switzerland), is still incomplete, with an uncertain outcome. Nevertheless, a conviction emerges: the “representations” of the Church and of ministries condition the possibility of synodality. More than a structural reform, synodality is a pastoral conversion, which is therefore vital: it is a new way of being and acting. In other words, it is the Catholic ethos, accustomed to a reflex of delegation, which asks to be corrected, in virtue of baptism and the sensus fidei deriving from baptismal grace. | ||
