520 _aA great deal of research shows that local workforces and local firms take advantage of technical and organizational innovations brought about by FDI. However, these innovations are a source of competitive advantage for foreign investors. For that reason, they use protectionist measures to limit the transfer of this expertise. This paper questions whether the transfer of knowledge is really taking place and to what extent it is beneficial to local employees. To answer these questions, a case study of four foreign enterprises located in Poland was conducted.
