520 _aThis paper shows how the assessment practices at universities today represent new systems of voluntary servitude that contribute to the neoliberal art of governing individuals and populations. In order to do so, power, impregnated by the fever for assessments, has insidiously and progressively changed the meaning of this notion, a notion conceived as a social enlargement of the managerial norm in the areas of social life that were protected from it until now.
