520 | _aThe Italian social and health services have only recently developed codified evaluation techniques. Currently, such practices are more oriented towards cost-effectiveness and economic rationale. Quality and the social and health-based meaning of treatment are overlooked. This paper illustrates the dialogic evaluation approach. Dialogic evaluation builds a progressive dialogue between the different stakeholders’ perspectives. Several knowledge paradigms coexist among professionals, although their practical application is often taken for granted. The intertwining of professional, social, and individual views mirrored in treatment projects is clarified and compared. The value of social and health practices needs to be built through the dialogue between the multiple paradigms on practical knowledge. | ||
