520 _aThe question of skills occupies a significant place among the sources of staff assessment systems. We are not yet rid of this “psychomanagement” combining a psychology that pretends to be a science with organization and methods that pretend no less. How could we grasp and specify the traits that would objectivize an individual’s personality and determine his skills, interests, and motivations in order to place him “in the right place”? How could we separate the work from the man to make this one the ultimate aim of assessments? This paper reviews the genealogy of this attempt.
