520 _aThis study is based on fieldwork within a special setting: a day hospital for adolescents called L’Esquisse, where artists meet young people in specific workshops. It explores the human impact of this setting, which is influenced by psychoanalytic thinking and therefore based on the transference relationship. This setting is different from an art-therapy environment or a therapeutic kind of mediation process. It seeks to be an original setting that allows psychoanalysis to remain lively while being different from the norm, in spite of the resistance it now experiences from health care institutions. In this respect, this study is part of the wider issues dealt with in this journal, namely: How can psychoanalysis be reinvented? What about the psychoanalytic framework outside the “walls”?
