520 _aThe publication of Pope Francis’ Motu Proprio Traditionis custodes and the arrival of the new French translation of the Roman Missal offer an opportunity to re-read history and recall the meaning of the liturgical reform initiated by Vatican ii. Was it a new perception of the liturgy? The hope and the tensions that it may have generated continue to agitate the Latin Church, which is riven by currents based on different conceptions of the liturgy. The article seeks to highlight the meaning of the liturgy, as transmitted to us by the magisterium, which we must above all accept as the work of God (Opus Dei) for his people.
