Ankara’s position with regard to the Syrian crisis is ambiguous and its ambivalence surrounding the jihadist movement has incited tension and distrust. While there is a nascent movement towards rapprochement with Riyad, relations between Ankara and Moscow as between Tehran and Cairo are highly strained.
