520 _aHow can we reconcile the observation of a "post-democratization" of the European Union with that of its structural "democratic deficit"? By analyzing the current events, the foundation and the origins of European post-democracy, we intend to qualify the hypothesis of a change of democratic paradigm due to the crisis of the years 2000-2010. In our opinion, the crisis reveals, but does not invent, a form of governance that has its origins in the 1950s, when the European supranational scale became the laboratory of a eunomic rationality in which technicians gradually replaced politicians and interest groups the citizens.
