520 _aVery little has been written on the constitutional education of Elizabeth II. The aim of this article is to understand the training for her role in a country in which the Constitution is not codified and where learning about power is done in a practical way. Studying the Queen’s traditional education, the way she put it into practice, and how it was also put to the test during the seventy years of her reign, allows us to outline the features of the remarkable training of a head of state who is, above all, the head of the nation. The conclusion looks back on that reign as an essential example for the education of future monarchs, although this education should evolve.
