520 _aBiodiversity is not just a concept, it is also a story, an encounter, a place, a good one is in charge of, a familiar and sensitive reality, “attached” to a multitude of ties. This reality possesses the stories of about sixty researchers who accepted an extraordinary experience for them : tell their story and which of their works. In these stories, the making of scientific facts is set in practices, anecdotes, personal or institutional relationships, in choices which become entangled. This experience raises the question of knowing how to encompass the totality or, more modestly how to attest ? In this article, our point consists of adopting the glasses of a modest sociology, that is to say : follow the reality in its making (1), experiment stories that account for it and argue about their capacities (2) and feel concerned and responsible of our descriptions of the world (3). These are three proposals which work together and match to the will of producing “situated” knowledge.
