520 _aFrom a pragmatic sociological approach to the production of information, this article explores the mechanisms of non-mediatization through journalists' work and their strategies of mobilizing sources. Between naturalism and constructivism, the author analyses journalistic practices as regards the framing of occurrence, the selection of information, and forms of judgement at play in assessing the attractiveness of news. This is an initial response to criticism of the media and particularly, in the past fifteen years, “media silences”.
