520			_aIn this interview, General Gallet – who, as commander of the fire brigade of Paris, was one of the key figures in the effort to save the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris – speaks of courage and commitment, not only that of firefighters or soldiers who risk their lives in extreme situations, but also that of the invisible heroes of daily life who know how to go above and beyond for the good of all and who ultimately sustain the life of our society. Courage is seen as a battle against oneself which, in order not to be misused (as in the case of suicide bombers), must have a moral purpose and rely upon certain values. Young people and society as a whole need to find exemplary, compassionate, and reputable figures, who serve as signs of a history that offers a sense of meaning. Education should provide for this.
