520 _aThe notion of 'intimacy'? is central to Nicholson Baker's novel Room Temperature, both thematically and theoretically. The narrator, by observing and deconstructing each detail of a scene from his daily life, explores the limits of the expression of his own intimacy. This study aims to understand what is really exposed in the 'exhibitionism'? of the narrator and of the text and what place there is for the reader in such an economy. We will address the question of the frontiers between 'autobiography,'? 'interiority'? and 'intimacy'? in the contemporary perspective of the blurring of the boundary between exteriority and interiority, or even of a radical questioning of these concepts.
