520 _aCameroon’s postal public service, which was set up when the country became independent in 1960, provides a range of general interest postal services. It has had a varied history. Failures caused by over-administrative management and the lack of any management strategy to adapt the sector to technological and economic developments have brought about the gradual decline of this valuable development tool. Since the outsourcing of postal activities by the government in 2004, the public postal service is now going through a period of change. This can be seen not only in the development of a new organisational and structural framework, but also in the public service duties performed by all postal operators in Cameroon.
