On the other hand, the fact of living at the symbolic centre of the European system may reinforce individual identification with, and support for, the EU. A survey of a representative sample of Strasbourg citizens suggests a moderate effect of both factors (proximity and centre). However, this effect does not overcome the usual socio-economic and cultural gaps in socialization with respect to the EU. | ||
