520 _aDeferred action ? from the outset ? The author ? retroactively ? takes up the main theoretical themes of B.?Chervet's paper and problematises some questions raised by deferred action as a first operator in the treating the endogenous trauma. She explores questions relating to the linkage of ? extinctive regressivity ? with drive conflictuality and the postulate of drive binding. Starting from connections and differences between functional masochism and primary erogenous masochism, she puts forward some observations on the revival of a concept that seems to be absent from the structural theory, which is considered in this theorisation as an essential tool ? from the outset ? to counteract the primitive tendency to eliminate traces and the threat of extinction that belong to the two drive movements.
