520 _aSubcontracting is frequently analyzed as part of the dichotomy between the center and its margins. Based on research on the IT department of a transport company, the article aims at showing that this form of organization can also deeply transform the relationship between margin and center. Subcontracting enables the organizing of a trial for the employees of the main contractor, who may be gradually sidelined in their work, to the benefit of the subcontractors.
