520 _aIf one of the specificities of the analytic situation is to establish absence from a presence, it is by starting from the question of the “presence of the analyst” as a support for absence that I want to look at the situation of what is called “remote psychoanalysis”. Taking as my starting-point modifications bearing on the relations between the elements of the complex perception-hallucination-representation which governs the relations between presence and absence, I have approached this “presence of the analyst” through what I call the tangible materiality of the analytic frame corresponding to the elements of the reality of the scene where the sessions take place and where traces of the lost contact with the object become lodged. It is these elements that the situation of “remote psychoanalysis” calls into question profoundly by suppressing the poles of cathexes represented by the characteristic traces of the presence of the body of the analyst inscribed in the materiality of the frame.
