520 | _aThis article seeks to provide a historical analysis of fair and solidarity trade policy in Brazil by observing the institutional arrangements that stem from the interaction between the social movement and the state bureaucracy, and how this has influenced political results. The methodology includes literature review and search, as well as the study of official and civil society organization documents. We find that significant progress has been made on the policy, especially in the promotion of solidary trading and in the participatory construction of regulatory and certification mechanisms. However, after years of mobilization, the policy still faces hurdles to its full implementation, especially due to changes in the structure of political opportunities in recent years. | ||
