520 _aContemporary research about the role and significance of emotions has been increasing in different fields of business administration. At the same time, Goleman’s research on emotional intelligence has been successfully acknowledged. From our perspective, however, his conception is weak. A deeper understanding of the concept of emotion should replace Goleman’s claims and could replace the concept of emotional intelligence in business administration research.
