520 _aIn France, profit sharing includes all the mechanisms for employees to be financially involved with the results of their company and/or to build up savings through it. This article focuses on the implementation of employee savings plans in SMEs, where the introduction of such mechanisms is a voluntary measure. Using a practical case study, the article aims to determine whether the implementation of an employee savings plan really constitutes a personnel motivational tool for the manager of an SME. It concludes by considering the role of the public accountant as a support for profit-sharing concerns.
