520 _aStudies on the role of emotions and feelings in the researcher's sensemaking process are few. However, it is a determining factor and can be a real asset. The self-analysis of the emotions and feelings of a researcher in the context of a mountaineering expedition is relevant to understanding concretely how emotions and feelings act in their construction of meaning. The results show that emotions and feelings are infused throughout the process, and that regulating them (1) allows the researcher to continue collecting data, (2) allows for greater empathy, and (3) that the rise of a feeling can crystallize an interpretation. Finally, we advocate physical and mental preparation and a better acceptance of the management researcher's risk of subjectivity.
