520 _aThis paper introduces the interior city as an element shared by Julio Cortázar ( Hopscotch) and Hélène Cixous ( Ex-cities and Love Itself in the Letter Box). Using a comparative analysis of fragments of these three texts, the paper aims to show a series of articulations shared by Cixous and Cortázar concerning the interior city, including the city as promise, always dual (through the fusion of cities), spatial and temporal simultaneities, the reinvention of the city, the link between writing about the city and writing about love, and the fusion of the fantastic with the day-to-day.
