520 | _aThe Revue de littérature comparée in 1921 reflects the difficulty women had in entering the literary field, both as objects and as subjects of study and analysis. Whether patrons, students, researchers, or writers, women are not very visible in the titles of the different sections. They are, however, very present. The RLC mentions and comments on the work of women researchers who are sometimes cited as authorities. The most striking phenomenon is the constant reference made to “Madame de Staël,” a true “founding mother” of comparative literature. | ||
