520 | _aThis article attempts to rebuild the intellectual itinerary of Jaime Guzmán, an architect in the shadows of Pinochet’s dictatorship. Guzmán produced a liberal-conservative synthesis in an effort to justify economic liberalism as derived from the principle of subsidiarity. The article mainly questions the internal coherence of such a synthesis, as well as its polemic features with regard to Marxism. JEL classification: A13 – B31 – N46 – O54 | ||
