245 0 0 _aAn Upheaval of the Supplementary Health Insurance Sector Brings Mixed Results
260 _c2017.

520 _aThe outgoing five-year term has profoundly shaken up the supplementary health insurance sector. Its integration is accompanied by the explicit desire for control and nationalisation, as is reflected in the taxation of the sector. The outgoing term has not called into question any of the taxes imposed by the previous majority, although it is known that they have contributed to a significant increase in supplementary coverage. This has been marked by new form of ‘dirigisme’: in addition to regulatory dirigisme there is now administered competition between operators, which thus makes full use of market mechanisms at the core of the health field. This mixture of regulatory dirigisme and intensified competitive pressure could even be considered the trademark of supplementary health insurance coverage, introduced in 2012.
