As early as 1992, in direct line with the research conducted by Renaud Sainsaulieu introducing subjectivity at work in the profession identity, the author draws on theories from the sociology of the firm to create her profession of practicing sociologist. Along the evolutions of the socio-economic context, she notes the adaptations required from the sociological diagnostic method, and more particularly when confronted to the present-day issues of work-related stress.
