520 _aSocio-historical analyses of public statistics usually regard them as resources to define public problems and legitimate political actions. In this article, the analysis of the occupational health statistics produced by occupational health physicians in the workplace shows a more chaotic production process and more ambiguous results. Occupational health physicians are involved in the production of statistical indicators in order to reveal the links between health and work, and to influence prevention policies. Data production contributes to bring to light the health-at-work issues inside companies. However, figures produced by physicians tend to slip away from their hands when they are used by the management system, with its own agenda: figures are used in a more normative way, resulting in the inclusion of health at work in the prescriptive and reporting system.
