Cet article en résume les principales péripéties et s’attache en particulier à l’analyse de la stratégie de la banque Paribas, principal acteur du côté français. Les intérêts allemands sont essentiellement représentés par la BASF.L’intérêt de cette société internationale d’électrochimie tient beaucoup au caractère de sa production (fertilisants, explosifs, eau lourde) dans le contexte des deux guerres mondiales.

This article summarizes the major vicissitudes of the alliance, focusing on the strategy of the Paribas bank, the leading partner on the French side. The German interests were mainly represented by BASF.The particular interest of this international electrochemical firm is to be found in the nature of its production (fertilizers, explosives and heavy water), within the context of the period between the two World Wars.
