520			_aRésuméLes hypothèses proposées dans cet article sont le fruit de la confrontation entre deux méthodologies distinctes : la recherche ethnologique de terrain d’une part, l’analyse de textes juridiques et de dossiers issus des archives judiciaires d’autre part. Nos hypothèses se situent donc sur un axe double, juridique et anthropologique. Il s’agit de montrer que les pratiques infanticides décrites dans les dossiers d’archives sont le reflet de représentations du corps et de la vie qui ont été – et sont encore en partie – celles d’une partie de la population de l’île de la Réunion ; d’éclairer les peines prononcées au regard de ces conceptions.
520			_aThe hypotheses proposed in this article result from the confrontation between two distinct methodologies : ethnological field research in the one hand and the analysis of juridical texts and archive material on the other hand. Our research hypotheses are thus based on both, juridical and anthropological considerations. We try to show that the infanticide practices described in archive documents reflect the body and life representations of a part of the island population until a relatively recent period – and partly still today – and to explain the penalties pronounced in the light of these representations.
520			_aZusammenfassungDie in diesem Artikel vorgeschlagenen Hypothesen wurden aus der Gegenüberstellung von zwei verschiedenen Methodologien hergeleitet : der ethnologischen Feldforschungs einerseits, und der Analyse von Rechtstexten und Rechtsarchivalien andererseits. Unsere Forschungshypothesen basieren so zugleich auf rechtlichen und anthropologischen Betrachtungen. Wir wollen zeigen, dass die in den Archivalien beschriebenen Kindesmörderspraktiken die Körpers- und Lebensvorstellungen eines Teils der Inselbevölkerung widerspiegeln, die bis zu einer verhältnismässig neuen Zeit üblich waren – und teilweise noch heute sind – und die ausgesprochenen Strafen im Lichte dieser Vorstellungen erklären.
