520			_aCet article propose une mise au point historiographique sur la place des femmes dans les sciences de l’homme au xixe et au xxe siècles en suggérant des pistes à suivre pour enrichir les recherches déjà menées sur ce sujet, dont il souligne l’actualité. Partant du constat de la faible présence des femmes dans l’histoire des sciences humaines et sociales, ce texte expose les obstacles systémiques qu’elles ont rencontrés en France, en insistant notamment sur les difficultés de formation que ces dernières ont connues, l’enseignement supérieur leur ayant longtemps été très peu accessible. Ce travail revient en outre sur le parcours de quelques pionnières qui réussirent à contourner ces obstacles pour entreprendre des carrières de chercheuses dans les disciplines très conservatrices qu’étaient sur ce point la philosophie et l’histoire. Cet article se penche enfin sur la contribution aux sciences sociales apportée par les femmes engagées dans les milieux associatifs consacrés à l’action sociale en analysant la manière dont ces amatrices contribuèrent à la constitution d’un savoir empirique sur les classes populaires au tournant du xixe et du xxesiècle.
520			_aThis article provides a historiographical review of the place of women in the humanities and social sciences in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, suggesting some leads to enrich the research already carried out on this still very contemporary subject. Starting from the observation that women are poorly represented in the history of the humanities and social sciences, this paper exposes the systemic obstacles women encountered in France, with a particular focus on the educational difficulties they experienced, as higher education was for a long time largely inaccessible to women. This work also looks at the career paths of some pioneering women who managed to bypass these obstacles and pursue careers as researchers in the then very conservative disciplines of philosophy and history. Finally, this article examines the contribution to social sciences of women involved in non-profit organizations devoted to social reform, analyzing their role in building empirical knowledge on the working classes at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
