| 520 | _aThe starting point for this article is a pair of photograph albums, conserved by the family of an Indian engineer, which document the construction site of the Sukkur Barrage, situated in the present state of Pakistan, between 1927 and 1931. The approach adopted explores the ways in which this photographic archive, which at first sight appears to be very technical in character, can be used to objectify the point of view of a subaltern and can serve to reveal the imbrication of hierarchies (racial, class-based, etc.) within colonial society. | ||
