520			_aLe Retour, roman de Bernhard Schlink, tisse ensemble deux quêtes de vérité : l’une concerne une fiction, un roman inachevé qui a fasciné le narrateur lorsqu’il était enfant; l’autre concerne la rencontre de ses parents, sa naissance et la disparition de son père, à la fin de la dernière guerre. Apartir de ce récit complexe, je m’interroge sur le processus qui amène une personne à rechercher « la vérité » sur un événement qui la préoccupe ou la concerne directement, ainsi que sur le travail de deuil et de réinvestissement dans la vie qui s’ensuit.
520			_aAQuest for Truth The Return, a novel by Bernhard Schlink, weaves together two quests for truth: one concerns an unfinished novel which fascinated the narrator when he was a child; the other concerns the first meeting of his parents, his birth, and then, the disappearance of his father at the end of the last war. Based on this complex narrative, I pose some questions about the process which motivates a person to look for “the truth” of an event which may preoccupy or concern him/her directly, as well as the work of grieving and then, of reinvesting oneself in the life which follows.
