Cet article retrace les modalités d’articulation du tourisme et de la planification depuis le début du XXe siècle en mettant en évidence les freins et les leviers de l’intégration de cette thématique dans les documents stratégiques de planification contemporaine. L’observation cible en particulier des territoires littoraux et l’analyse de la dimension touristique dans les schémas de cohérence territoriale.

This paper analyses the articulation of tourism and planning since the beginning of the XXth century. It explores limits and opportunities of the integration of this thematic in contemporary strategic spatial planning practices. It illustrates this view by examining coastal territories and specifically the urban development plans (territorial coherence schemes).
