520 _aIn this article, we attempt to explain the consequences of applying, in the field of education, the principles of an ethic of care as developed in the work of the psychoanalyst Sándor Ferenczi. Indeed, reflections on education can be found throughout his work. However, as we shall demonstrate, the principles of hospitality, empathy, and the health of the carer, particularly after the “1928 turning point” he brought about in the field of psychoanalysis, have become benchmarks not only for clinical practice, but also for guiding the ethics of educational practice, by avoiding the traumatic potential present in every act aimed at transmitting knowledge.
